One with the British IOM3 and the other with the Swedish Innventia.
São Paulo (Brazil), May 2010 In its first Board meeting of 2010, scheduled to May 31st, in Beijing, China, Keith Pearson, President of WPO (World Packaging Organisation), will sign two important contracts for the development of the entity’s activities. The first one, with the British The Packaging Society, WPO member and part of IOM3 (The Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining), is related to the administration and clerical work of the WorldStar competition. According to the agreement, IOM3 will be responsible for all procedures involved in the competition like receiving entries and organizing the ceremony and the trophies. Rachel Brooks has been designated by IOM3 to be the prime responsible for the WorldStar administration.
Another important contract will be formalized with the Swedish company Innventia and is related to WPO General Secretariat Management. Under this agreement, the General Secretary, Carl Olsmats will, in close collaboration with the WPO Executive Committee, suggest priorities and a Working Plan for the Organization. “Each year a summary of the major achievements and future targets will be presented in the annual report”, explains Keith Pearson.
In general terms, the main duties in the General Secretary’s portfolio are financial, member relations and development, administration, WorldStar Competition (just strategic management decisions), website, publications, board meetings, exhibitions and conferences, projects of each Committee (Education, Marketing and Communication, Sustainability, etc), sponsorships, administration and clerical work in general.
